Kia Ora whanau
Looking for my whakapapa on my koro's side. Wirepa Hetaraka, his mum was Tawaka Paora. I have sighted whakapapa that says his dad was Heta Hakaraia. I have papers my koro signed as Hetaraka, Te oi, Te ngoi, as his last name. Has my koro any siblings? Who is Tawaka named after? Which urupa is she resting. Is Tawaka Wiki & Tawaka Paora the same person.

Thank you TE Kuta. This will be my whanau, the only Heta I remember is Henry. We camped a couple of times at Hauai when we were younger & really didn't know the connections. Older now & looking at our whakapapa for our tamariki & moko. In my research my koros papa is Hetaraka Te Ngo. So sighting whakapapa that has Heta Hakaraia as his papa has confused me??

Well the tawaka paora i know, was from Rawhiti in the bay of islands, and funnily enuff, thea are sum Heta's in the same bay, Kofi, Robbie Heta & them, sure thats your whanau bro

In regards to Hetaraka Hakaraia that you've mentioned, I can assure you that I am versed on the Hakaraia Whanau whakapapa from Te Rawhiti and Orokawa, and there is no Hetaraka Hakaraia or a person of that name that exists in the Hakaraia Whanau.
Tawaka Paora is the daughter of Paora Whataparaoa.
I know Tawaka Paora had three spouses.
As to Te Kuta's postings, the Heta Whanau he/she speaks of are descendants of Heta Te Kauwhata who was of the Ngati Wai tribe.
Just clarifying things for you so you don't get confused in your search.

Threw me right off track when shown someone's whakapapa that said something different.
Paora Whatapaora = Hiraka ?
Tawaka Paora = Hetaraka Te Ngo ( Whangaruru Sth)
Wirepa Hetaraka = Huirua McNeil
Tui Hetaraka = Rakau Mohi Pita (Tehaara) (my mum & dad)
