I am looking for information on ringa e ono who was married to abraham bennett white who died in opotiki in 1867

I don't know very much about Ringa Ono, except that she was not married to Bennett White but his older brother George and that see died during childbirth while they were over in Poihakena (Sydney). Ringa, also called Nina, was the daughter of Rangitakina of Ngai Te Rangihouhiri at Matata. She was survived by one daughter, Charlotte, who married William Brown and was known as Harata Paraone.
Perhaps it is Bennett White's wife you want to know about. Her name is Mere Te Uia and she was also called E Ono. Her grandfather was Tikitu I of Nga Maihi at Te Teko. Bennett and Mere had 8 children: Wiremu (Te Piri); Hemi; Hori; Ropata; Arapeta; Ono (Charlotte - Mrs Hooper); Te Rangatai (Augustina/Selina/Ellen - Mrs McGregor); and Mere Te Uia (Mary - Mrs Cowie). After Bennett was killed, Mere sent all the children to live with their uncle George who was then in Whitianga. The White whanau are well known up there and there is quite a bit of info in the local Mercury Bay Museum.
